Over the holiday weekend, as friends gathered in my hometown, the topic of conversation often turned to career paths. It is amazing how often this topic comes up when reconnecting with distant friends.
As I describe my career to others and listen to the path’s of old friends I realize that we should never be satisfied with our current situation. It is the drive for continued success which defines who we are- not our current job.
After finishing my undergraduate degree I had no intention of ‘going back’ to school, but his phrase goes against everything I know of lifelong learning and continued education.
Rather than be satisfied, I want to learn more and do more- this does not necessarily include formal schooling but any form of learning that keeps the mind fresh and firing on all cylinders.
Rethink Satisfied.
